4th of July weekend is undoubtedly a huge weekend for blockbuster movies, partially because movie studios always release big action films, and partially because we all want as much air conditioning as we can get. Since the 4th falls on a Wednesday this year, the way we see it, we get to enjoy both weekends surrounding it as if they’re official holidays in and of themselves. With three drastically different (and sure-to-be-huge) flicks opening during… let’s just call it “Independence Week,” options for the latter weekend are admirable; whether it’s The Amazing Spider-Man, Savages or that Katy Perry movie (don’t lie — you know you’re curious) that strikes your fancy, there’s a recliner waiting for you inside The Domain’s ultra-swanky (and did we mention air conditioned?) iPic Theaters, complete with seat service and supersoft blankets in case the A/C gets too intense. Now, there’s a perk of capitalism completely worth celebrating.
