This Weekend: Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2 at The Alamo

Kill Bill Marathon at the Alamo Drafthouse

In celebration of Quentin Tarantino’s blood-spattered return to the big screen with his new film Django Unchained hitting theaters this past week, The Alamo Drafthouse is bringing a duo of modern QT classics back to the big screen – Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and 2.  If seeing Uma Thurman’s murderous rampage on a 55″ television screen just isn’t enough to quicken your pulse, the Alamo comes to the rescue with a back-to-back Tarantino extravaganza on both Saturday and Sunday.  We’re betting they’ll have some irreverently-named drink specials (made with red mixers like tomato juice and grenadine, no doubt) to go along with all that bloodshed.

Kill Bill: Vol. 1: Sat, Dec 29 at 12 pm and Sun, Dec 30 at 3:00 pm

Kill Bill: Vol. 2: Sat, Dec 20 at 12:30 pm and Sun, Dec 30 at 3:30 pm

Now Open: The Alamo Drafthouse on Slaughter Lane

Alamo Drafthouse on Slaughter Lane

It’s true what they say: the stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas.  If the Alamo Drafthouse has anything to say about it, our love of pop culture and cinema in particular should be celebrated with abandon and absolute geekery far and wide; that’s why they’re expanding their empire to include a new location: the Alamo Drafthouse on Slaughter Lane which opened earlier this month.

Prior to its arrival, the Alamo South Lamar was the southernmost theater in the doggedly beloved entertainment empire.  Just like the other drafthouses, the Slaughter location has full food and drink service via wait staff and special events to spare.  That’s the Alamo for you… just doing its part to make movie night that much cooler.
