When the song says “The stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas,” it may as well be talking about the talent behind the longstanding lone star staple, Rodeo Austin, which kicks up its boots and sticks around for a few weeks every spring. This year, contemporary superstars like Alabama Shakes, Kip Moore, Eli Young Band and Josh Turner will share the country stage with the likes of legends Merle Haggard, The Charlie Daniels Band and even Three Dog Night. Of course, there’s the actual rodeo itself, too, with competitive events, horse shows and agricultural exhibitions galore. And what would a good state fair & rodeo be without a cold beer and some funnel cake? Enjoy some of the finest down-home entertainment the Lone Star State has to offer at the Travis County Expo Center.
