Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to Bust a Move (or the Wild Thing — whichever you prefer) and enjoy some Funky Cold Medina. Syndicated radio DJ Bobby Bones (@mrbobbybones) is at it again this year with his annual “Second Chance Prom,” in which he brings old-school musical acts to town and encourages ticket holders to come to the show dressed in traditional high school prom gear. This year’s prom is sure to delight with the likes of late-80s hip hoppers Young MC and Tone-Loc hitting the stage for a night of silly fun, dancing, and of course, the sorts of drinks not found at actual high school dances — unless, that is, someone spikes the punch. Tickets for this Friday night’s event are on sale online for $15.

Local radio DJ Bobby Bones is known for being a bit of a confirmed bachelor, and every year he hosts a party during the weekend of Valentine’s Day for singles to meet one another. This year’s Singles Mingle, hosted by KISS-FM and several sponsors, takes place at Sherlock’s Pub and features food, drinks, games and prizes. Bobby, who just returned home to Austin from guest hosting on “Live with Regis & Kelly” in New York City, will be there to join in the fun. The event is free, but partygoers must have a ticket to get in.
